Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporations, gave a keynote address, entitled "The Imperative of Paying Attention to the Politics of Chinese Outward Investment," to the 8th annual China Goes Global Conference in Shanghai. Dr. Blanchard emphasized that politics has been associated with Chinese outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) since the beginning and that contemporary news stories quite clearly illustrate that political factors are shaping Chinese OFDI in a variety of important ways.
