On September 21, 2018, the Mr. & Mr. S.H. Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporation (Wong MNC Center) and the University of Nottingham, Ningbo jointly held a workshop on China’s Maritime Silk Road Initiative (MSRSI), Africa, and the Middle East. At the workshop, Dr. Jean-Marc F. Blanchard, Executive Director of the Wong MNC Center, presented a paper entitled “Problematic Prognostications Then and Now about China’s Maritime Silk Road Initiative” that looked at the achievements of the MSRI generally and in specific countries as well as the factors shaping its performance. Following the workshop there were two afternoon roundtables featuring stimulating discussion of a wide variety of MSRI and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) related topics. The workshop and roundtables were co-organized and co-sponsored by the Wong MNC Center and UNN and hosted by UNN.
