Asian Perspective publishes Wong MNC Center orchestrated special journal issue

In December 2016, Asian Perspective, a leading academic journal focused on global, regional, and transnational issues affecting Northeast Asia, published a special journal issue on “The Political Economy of China—Latin America Investment Relations” (Vol. 40, No. 4, Oct.-Dec. 2016). The special issue, featured on this webpage, was orchestrated by the Mr. & Mrs. S.H. Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporations (Wong MNC Center) and flows from a Wong MNC Center sponsored panel on China-Latin American investment relations that took place in 2015 at the Association of Chinese Political Studies annual meeting held at Peking University (Beijing, China). The special issue includes pieces by top American and Latin American scholars and policymakers on Chinese investment and China-Latin America relations that survey the literature, discuss Chinese investment in Brazil, probe Chinese investment in Peru, analyze Chinese investment in Mexico, and examine China-Chile investment interactions. More specifically, these essays examine the contemporary state of China’s investment relations with these countries, contemplate how politics, at the domestic and global level, is affecting these relations or how these relations are affecting host country foreign and domestic policies, and consider other variables affecting the political economy of investment dynamics between China and these countries.
