The Activities of the Center

To realize its mission, The Center will engage in the following activities, as well as related work:

  1. Organize and co-sponsor workshops, conferences, and other gatherings that tie to The Center’s mission;
  2. Organize and co-sponsor speaker series related to The Center’s mission;
  3. Generate regular reports and/or indexes that synopsize features of the politico-economy of MNCs in the East Asian region;
  4. Facilitate exchanges among academics, businesspeople, and policymakers that advance The Center’s mission;
  5. Support research by senior and junior scholars that has the potential to fulfill the mission of The Center as well as to increase the impact, profile, and prestige of The Center.
  6. Subsidize the translation of East Asian language works pertaining to The Center’s mission;
  7. Subsidize the publication of works related to The Center’s mission;
  8. Award an annual prize (to be named the Mr. & Mrs. S.H. Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporations Prize) for a policy relevant work pertaining to The Center’s mission;
  9. Support graduate students who are conducting advanced study relating to The Center’s mission; and,
  10. Facilitate an informed discourse about MNCs in the public media.
