Ambassador Jorge Heine joins the Wong MNC Center Advisory Board

Dr. Jorge Heine, Ambassador of Chile to the People's Republic of China, has joined the Mr. & Mrs. S.H. Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporations. Ambassador Heine previously was CIGI Professor of Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and a Professor at Wilfrid Laurier University. He previously served as Ambassador of Chile to India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka and has held other high government posts.

Asian Perspective publishes Wong MNC Center orchestrated special journal issue

In December 2016, Asian Perspective, a leading academic journal focused on global, regional, and transnational issues affecting Northeast Asia, published a special journal issue on “The Political Economy of China—Latin America Investment Relations” (Vol. 40, No. 4, Oct.-Dec. 2016). The special issue, featured on this webpage, was orchestrated by the Mr. & Mrs. S.H.

Chilean Ambassador to China speaks at Wong MNC Center sponsored panel

Jorge Heine, Ph.D., Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to China, presented a paper entitled “The Chile-China Paradox: Burgeoning Trade, but Hardly Any Investment” for the Mr. & Mrs. S.H. Wong Center for the Study of Multinational Corporation’s sponsored panel on “The Political Economy of China-Latin America Investment Relations” held at the Association of Chinese Political Studies’ 28th Annual Conference and International Symposium on “China and the Changing World Order” which was held at Peking University (Beijing, China).
