China's Foreign Direct Investment: The Case of Latin America (Beijing, China)

Dr. Enrique Dussel Peters, National Autonomous University of Mexico, will give a seminar at Tsinghua University on Chinese outward FDI (OFDI) to Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Since the financial crisis of 2008, Chinese OFDI into the LAC has significantly increased, though there are noteworthy differences between Chinese and host country sources about China OFDI's exact amounts, destinations, and sectoral distribution. The discussion will illuminate Chinese investment flows into 5 LAC countries and the special features of Chinese OFDi in order to inform policy constructon and collaborative research.
